Research Presentation
FOXY is a program that uses arts-based methods and participatory action research design to transform the way young women in the NWT think about sexual health and relationships. The program uses traditional beading, theatre, digital storytelling, photography, and music to help teenage girls express their knowledge, opinions, and questions about health and love (and everything in between). With a strong focus on sexual health and empowered decision-making, girls across the North get to know themselves a little bit better and learn through the arts. The program was recently awarded the Arctic Inspiration Prize – a $1 million investment in expanding the program across all three territories, including male and LGBT youth.
