Upcoming Events

Mission Park is Open!
Please come visit Mission Park the front gates will be open daily Monday - Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.  The space is open to use for  picnics, playing and self-guided tours with the interpretive signs.

Mission Park staff will be available on site on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Please stop in at St.Alphonse church to talk with them about tours, the history of the area, gardening and pioneer life.

ART in the Park at Mission Park! And Cupcake Thursday! -  Bring your lunch (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm) and join us for music in the park, tomorrow,  Thursday, June 20! Two of Fort Smith's own locally talented youth will be providing musical performances for your listening pleasure. We will also be selling cupcakes and drinks, the feature flavours this week are:  Apple Caramel and Black Forest! The weather forecast looks good!

Bubbles & Flowers Fun in Mission Park, Tuesday, June 25, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm - Come join us for some summer art with wildflowers we've collected in the woods and ditches and then romp and play with our giant bubbles! Everyone Welcome. See attached poster for more details. 

Teddy Bear Picnic at Mission Park, Saturday, June 29 - Pack a lunch and join us for a picnic with your favourite furry friend. We have an afternoon of family fun planned for everyone. See attached poster for details.

NLMCC & Mission Park Events

Hello All!  

Please check out our upcoming events:

  • Cupcake Thursdays at Mission Park: June 13, 2013, 10:30 am - 4:00 pm: Our feature flavours this week are:  Red Velvet cupcakes and Strawberry-Rhubarb Muffins, plus more! Cupcakes are $2.00 each, plus a special drink, tea, and coffee.
  • Teddy Bear Picnic: June 29, 2013, at Mission Park, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Children of all ages are encouraged to come out with their favourite teddy bear or stuffed animal and enjoy a  picnic  to celebrate their favourite fuzzy friend! Contests will be held that all can enter (best costume, largest teddy, smallest teddy, best bow etc.)
  • ART in the Park: We are starting our ART in the Park series at Mission Park this summer! The ART in the Park Series is an opportunity to bring your lunch to Mission Park, enjoy locally performed music or watch and learn from a visual or performing artist. sit in the sun, and take in the gardens and history of Mission Park,  This year, we are able to provide a small honorarium for any artists or performers willing to join us!
  • I am looking for performers and/or artists willing to participate in the ART in the Park series at Mission Park for the 2013 season.  The series dates are:  June 20, July 18, August 15, and September 12, from 12 pm to 1 pm.  If you are interested in participating on one of these dates or would like to get more information, don't hesitate to contact me at admin@nlmcc.ca or (867)872-2859.

Cupcake Thursdays, PWK Open House & Slave River Day

Good Afternoon, 

A quick update for upcoming Museum related events: 

Cupcake Thursdays are almost here! This Thursday join us in Mission Park and enjoy a tasty treat for $2. Cupcakes will be available for sale from 11 AM - 4 PM. Our feature flavour this week will be S'MORES.
PWK's Open House Art Exhibit's grand opening is tonight! Stop by the museum from 7:00PM - 8:30PM and view some unique local art by our very own PWK students. 

We are excited to host Slave River Day on this coming Saturday, June 8th. Stop by between 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM for a fish fry, free crafts, an exciting museum tour and to learn more about our beautiful slave river.
