Make Your Own Heritage Minute Student Contest and Learning Materials
Historica Canada (KDAngelo@HistoricaCanada.ca) has requested the distribution of the following contest. If you no longer wish to be on this mailing list please reply with the subject line "Unsubscribe"
Greetings!
We're in the process of promoting a Canadian History-focused contest, Make Your Own Heritage Minute: Stories of Sir John A. and the Fathers of Confederation, that invites Canadian youth to explore the legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald and the Fathers of Confederation by creating their very own Heritage Minute-style video for a chance to win great prizes, like iPads and Smart Watches. There are also free bilingual learning tools about Sir John A. and Confederation for both junior/intermediate and senior levels available, as well as specialized French Immersion learning tools for download on our website: www.storiesofsirjohna.ca.
The contest itself is a great chance for young people to get creative with history and we welcome submissions from grades 5-12 and grade 5 to secondary V in Quebec in both official languages. The contest closes November 30, 2015.
I've attached a contest poster for you to read and post in your organization. We're very eager to ensure as many young Canadians as possible have the opportunity to participate in the contest.
